Repairs Supervisor

New Forest District Council is the largest housing provider in the District with over 5,200 Council dwellings made up of houses, flats, hostels and schemes providing extra care. We are looking for an exceptional Repairs Supervisor to join our team of property professionals in providing a comprehensive, responsive and cost effective front line housing repair service.

You will be responsible for the following areas:

• Implement and oversee day-to-day working and reporting procedures to ensure reactive maintenance repairs are delivered in accordance with statutory standards, within financial constraints, repair response times and key performance targets;
• Provide a quality, cost effective reactive maintenance service and proactively engage on repair related matters affecting the wider Housing Service;
• Provide leadership and undertake the day-to-day direct-line management duties of the Operational trade team;
• Engage and oversee works undertaken by contractors;
• Ensure works are undertaken in accordance with best practice and health and safety standards;
• Ensuring a customer focused, value for money and high quality Maintenance Service is delivered.

Must have excellent building knowledge, Supervisory experience as well as a good working knowledge of Microsoft Word / Excel and Outlook

A positive a can-do attitude will also be beneficial in the role.

About the role and the team

As one of three Repairs Supervisors responsible for leading and managing a team responsible for the day-to-day delivery of an efficient reactive maintenance service you will have a strong technical background in construction, building pathology, defect diagnosis and experience of supervising teams in the field related to social housing.
