The Science Team at Pride Health is currently supporting a client in the Medical Devices industry and has opening of Repair Technician in San Antonio, TX.
 
Position Summary:
As a Bio-Medical Equipment Repair Technician, you will perform depot-level repair and maintenance of medical VAC equipment while supporting production, quality, and safety standards. This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality device performance and compliance.
 
Additional Details:
Pay range: $18 to $ 22/hour on W2 as per your experience
Contract Length: 6 Months with the possibility of extension 
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform repairs, upgrades, retrofits, preventive maintenance, and software updates on internal and external customer medical VAC equipment (minimum 1–2 VAC medical product lines).
  • Conduct post-repair functional testing and accurately document results on device history records and checklist forms.
  • Record and track spare part consumption with full traceability in designated electronic repair systems and documentation platforms.
  • Perform accurate diagnostics and generate repair quotes for customer-owned medical VAC equipment.
  • Conduct offline spare part repair and processing (e.g., pumps, hanger arms, touchscreens) as directed by site leadership.
  • Support hardware/software testing, rework activities, and product conversions for internal teams.
  • Perform equipment and spare part salvaging tasks aligned with business objectives.
  • Meet production performance metrics including productivity, cost of repair, and first pass yield.
  • Maintain compliance with company values, code of conduct, and regulatory requirements.
  • Promote and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Demonstrate strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Participate in daily operational meetings with site leadership.
  • Escalate repair challenges or technical issues to supervisory personnel as needed.
 
Required Skills:
  • Associate’s degree in electrical, Engineering, Electronics, or related technical field
    OR
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and two (2) years of combined experience in manufacturing, electrical, mechanical, or pneumatic assembly/repair in a private, public, government, or military environment
 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with soldering and desoldering electronic components.
  • Background in servicing and/or manufacturing medical equipment in a production environment.
  • Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, and self-motivation skills.
 
 
Must be authorized to work in the United States.
