**Key Functions:**

*Engineering Solutions & Repair Strategy*
- Craft and validate detailed repair strategies for substantial aerospace structures and systems.
- Diagnose and resolve defects via comprehensive root cause analysis.
- Leverage OEM resources, technical documentation, and engineering directives effectively.
- Oversee overhaul initiatives involving welding, machining, and other specialized techniques.

*Quality Assurance & Regulatory Compliance*
- Maintain stringent adherence to FAA, EASA, and internal protocols.
- Approve detailed inspection documentation and certification processes.
- Support and participate in both internal and external audits.
- Work closely with the Quality team to drive sustained improvement measures.

*Innovation in Processes*
- Champion advancements in repair efficiency, cycle time reduction, and cost management.
- Engage in Lean and Six Sigma methodologies for process enhancements.
- Execute corrective and preventive actions efficiently.

*Collaborative Technical Leadership*
- Engage with cross-functional teams, aligning production and inspection efforts.
- Provide expert technical support to technicians and quality inspectors.
- Liaise with clientele and manufacturers on repair validation and technical inquiries.

**Ideal Background:**

*Academic Credentials:*
- Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent practical expertise.
- Professional experience in aerospace repair settings, notably with significant structures.
- Expertise in quality control systems and engineering support roles.
- Insight into FAA Part 145, AS9100, or related quality standards.
- Proficient in deciphering engineering schematics and GD&T principles.
- Experience with repair processes such as welding, machining, and non-destructive testing.
- Competency with root cause analysis methodologies (e.g., 8D, Fishbone).

*Core Skills:*
- Robust problem-solving capabilities.
- Strong communication and technical writing skills.
- Aptitude for thriving in fast-paced, high-precision environments.

*Desired Competencies:*
- Experience in DER processes or engine component restoration.
