Position Overview
The role of the Housekeeping Supervisor is to ensure hotel rooms are clean, orderly, attractive, equipment operating as intended, and ready for use to meet guest arrival schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
- Promote and portray the VIVAMEE Values.
- To know understand and adhere to company established policy and procedures.
- To supervise work activities of guest room attendants.
- To establish standards and procedures for the housekeeping staff.
- To inspect rooms for conformance to standards.
- To investigate complaints regarding equipment and take corrective action(s).
- To recommend new items/equipment and/or repair of existing items/equipment.
- To train new housekeeping staff.
- To obtain lists of rooms to be cleaned immediately and checkouts to prepare work assignments (schedules).
- To maintain inventories to ensure adequate supplies are available to execute responsibilities (establish par values for each commodity).
- To makes recommendations to improve service and ensure more efficient operations.
- To prepare department payroll (verifies/approves employee timecards for accuracy).
- Assist in the hiring of employees.
- To prepare department budgets.
- Should the demand warrant it, the Housekeeper Supervisor is expected to work along side the department staff to ensure rooms are ready before guests arrive. The supervisor must be physically able to perform these duties.
- Assign and direct work activities of housekeeping staff.
Prepare purchase orders for housekeeping supplies.
Qualifications:
- At least 1 year experience in a supervisory role
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Good communication skills, oral and written
- Spanish speaking a plus but not required
