    This role supports current and upcoming remote consulting opportunities focused on AI-assisted patient financial services evaluation, self-pay revenue cycle workflow review, patient communication assessment, payment plan recommendation review, and high-quality project execution. Selected professionals will apply patient financial services expertise to evaluate AI-generated patient communication, review collections strategies, identify compliance or workflow issues, and provide structured feedback based on detailed project criteria.

    Key Responsibilities

    Professionals in this role may contribute to:

    Patient Collections & Self-Pay Workflow Review

    • Review patient collections and self-pay workflows across pre-service, point-of-service, post-service, early-out, and bad debt processes
    • Evaluate AI-generated patient financial communication drafts, payment plan recommendations, and self-pay resolution strategies for accuracy, clarity, and compliance
    • Assess payment plan enrollment, monitoring, follow-up, and compliance workflows
    • Identify gaps, inconsistencies, unclear recommendations, or patient experience issues in self-pay collections outputs

    Patient Financial Services & Revenue Recovery Evaluation

    • Review workflows involving patient financial advocacy, financial counseling, billing coordination, bad debt recovery, and vendor oversight
    • Evaluate recommendations related to self-pay revenue recovery, patient payment engagement, propensity-to-pay tools, and digital payment platforms
    • Assess whether outputs align with patient financial assistance policies, collections expectations, and revenue cycle operations
    • Monitor or review self-pay KPIs such as collection rates, payment plan conversion, bad debt write-offs, and patient satisfaction indicators

    Structured Feedback, Compliance & Quality Control

    • Annotate AI-generated patient financial services outputs and provide structured feedback to support quality improvement
    • Evaluate content for alignment with FDCPA, HIPAA, state collections laws, internal patient financial assistance policies, and patient communication standards
    • Explain review decisions clearly, consistently, and with strong patient financial services judgment
    • Follow detailed task instructions, quality criteria, and project-specific review guidelines accurately

    Ideal Profile

    Strong candidates may have:

    • 5+ years of experience in patient collections, self-pay revenue cycle, patient financial services, or related healthcare revenue cycle operations
    • At least 2 years of leadership experience in patient financial services, collections, billing, self-pay operations, or vendor oversight
    • Deep knowledge of self-pay collection workflows, FDCPA compliance, patient financial engagement, and financial assistance processes
    • Experience managing early-out collections, bad debt collection programs, payment plans, and collection agency or vendor relationships
    • Familiarity with propensity-to-pay tools, patient payment technology platforms, EHR systems, and patient billing platforms
    • Exceptional written and verbal English communication skills
    • High attention to detail and ability to evaluate collections strategies, patient-facing communication, and AI-generated financial content
    • Ability to work independently in a remote, project-based environment

    Educational Background

    • Professional background in patient financial services, healthcare revenue cycle operations, self-pay collections, billing, financial counseling, patient access, accounts receivable, or healthcare business office operations is highly relevant
    • Experience in hospitals, health systems, physician groups, large healthcare organizations, or patient financial services departments may be especially valuable
    • Practical experience with patient billing systems, EHR platforms, digital payment tools, collections workflows, vendor management, or financial assistance processes may support project fit
    • Formal education in healthcare administration, finance, business, accounting, health information management, or a related field may be relevant depending on project scope

    Nice to Have

    • CRCR, CHAM, or similar healthcare revenue cycle or patient access certification
    • Experience with digital patient payment platforms, text or email-based collections outreach, and patient engagement tools
    • Background implementing propensity-to-pay analytics to prioritize collections efforts
    • Familiarity with AI tools and comfort evaluating AI-generated patient financial communication content
    • Experience developing patient collections SOPs, financial assistance workflows, vendor management processes, or internal control frameworks
