Position Title:Rehab Tech - Acute Care - University of Oklahoma Medical CenterDepartment:Adult Rehab ServicesJob Description:General SummaryAssists in executing non-skilled components of the individualized treatment plan under the immediate supervision of a licensed therapist or therapist assistant. Essential ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities listed in this section are core to the position. Inability to perform these responsibilities with or without an accommodation may result in disqualification from the position.Gathers necessary supplies and equipment, prepares treatment spaces, and maintains a clean and safe environment before, during, and after patient encounters.Assists clinicians in delivering therapeutic interventions as a supervised extension of the therapist (e.g., transfers, modalities, patient positioning, and removing bandages).Performs clerical duties, including patient scheduling, to assist therapist(s), leadership, or clerical staff.Ensures compliance with system-wide, local, state, and federal regulatory requirements by applying relevant standards and best practices.Attends department meetings. General ResponsibilitiesPerforms other duties as assigned. Education RequirementsHigh School Diploma or GED required. Experience RequirementsNo experience required. License/Certification/Registration RequirementsCurrent Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire. Knowledge/Skills/AbilitiesWorking knowledge of equipment, supplies, Home Exercise Programs (HEP), and discharge instructions to facilitate a safe discharge plan.Ability to prioritize tasks effectively, synthesize information from multiple sources, and identify the most relevant data to support patient care and operational efficiency.Communicates effectively with patients and caregivers, considering cultural and language needs.Proficient in electronic documentation and digital tools (e.g., EMR, Microsoft Office, cloud-based platforms).Ability to establish and maintain integrity and trust with patients by advocating in the patient’s best interest.Proficient written and oral communication skills characterized by candor, empathy, compassion, openness, integrity, and ability to be diplomatic.Demonstrates independence and teamwork while maintaining professionalism and civility.Fosters an inclusive environment that values diversity and individual differences.Current OU Health Employees - Please click HERE to login.OU Health is an equal opportunity employer.
