Job Title: Regulatory Specialist

Job Description

The Regulatory Specialist reviews and maintains raw material regulatory documentation to ensure compliance with regional and international requirements for flavors, fragrances, and related ingredients. This role gathers, evaluates, and organizes regulatory data, supports internal decision-making, and helps maintain high-quality regulatory records in internal systems. The position also collaborates closely with suppliers and internal teams to ensure accurate labeling, allergen, and compliance information across multiple markets.

Responsibilities

  • Review supplier documentation and update raw material regulatory information in internal systems to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Gather, review, and organize regulatory data to support raw material compliance assessments and internal decision-making.
  • Support raw material compliance with applicable U.S., Canadian, LATAM, Brazilian, and other regional regulatory requirements, including labeling, allergen, and related documentation needs.
  • Maintain an up-to-date working knowledge of key regulations and industry standards such as IFRA, GHS, Proposition 65, TSCA, REACH, and EU fragrance requirements.
  • Communicate with suppliers to obtain, clarify, or update raw material compliance documentation and resolve discrepancies.
  • Provide regulatory support to internal teams by sharing accurate compliance information and identifying issues that require escalation.
  • Maintain and improve regulatory data quality in internal systems used for raw material compliance tracking and reporting.
  • Assist in developing and updating internal training materials to strengthen regulatory awareness across the organization.
  • Contribute to process improvements that enhance regulatory data quality, documentation consistency, and overall compliance efficiency.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in regulatory compliance, regulatory affairs, raw material documentation, or a related field.
  • Experience working with regulatory documentation for raw materials, including reviewing, organizing, and maintaining compliance records.
  • Working knowledge of key regulations and standards such as IFRA, GHS, Proposition 65, TSCA, REACH, and EU fragrance requirements.
  • Ability to interpret and apply regulatory requirements related to labeling, allergens, and regional compliance.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling regulatory data and documentation.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills for interacting with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in using internal systems or databases to track, update, and report regulatory information.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in food, flavor, fragrance, botanical, or other regulated ingredient industries is preferred.
  • Familiarity with industry terminology and documentation requirements such as GMP, Kosher, Halal, NOP, allergens, labeling, and TTB is preferred.
  • Knowledge of IFRA, REACH, CAS numbers, Proposition 65, and FDA 21 CFR Part 484 is preferred.
  • Experience in regulatory affairs, regulatory submissions, labeling, and managing regulatory documents is beneficial.
  • Ability to contribute to training materials and process improvements that enhance regulatory awareness and data quality.
  • Comfort working in a multidisciplinary environment that includes R&D, QC, Culinary, Regulatory, and related functions.

Work Environment

The role is based 100% on site during first shift in a cutting-edge facility that spans multiple buildings and occupies nearly an entire block. 6 Month Contract.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
