Client Overview:
Our client is a growing organization within the personal care and cosmetics industry focused on developing safe, compliant, and high-quality products for domestic and international markets. They are now looking for a Regulatory Specialist.

Salary/Hourly Rate:
$35/hr - $38/hr

Position Overview:
The Regulatory Specialist will support regulatory compliance efforts for personal care and cosmetic products by performing raw material coding, managing ingredient documentation, product registrations, testing coordination, and labeling reviews.

Responsibilities of the Regulatory Specialist:
  • Perform raw material coding.
  • Evaluate product formulas, ingredient lists, labels, and marketing claims to ensure regulatory alignment.
  • Maintain organized and accurate regulatory files to support audits, inspections, and labeling reviews.
  • Oversee raw material coding by collecting, reviewing, and maintaining supplier regulatory documentation.
  • Prepare and update regulatory records to support product launches in U.S. and international markets.
  • Manage product registrations and required reporting, including MoCRA and California-specific filings (CFFIRKA).
  • Coordinate product safety and stability testing, including working with formulation teams, external labs, protocols, quotations, sample shipments, and final documentation.
  • Support the development and upkeep of product Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
  • Respond to internal and external regulatory inquiries with clear, accurate product and ingredient information.
  • Perform additional regulatory-related tasks as needed.
Required Experience/Skills for the Regulatory Specialist:
  • Hands-on experience with raw material coding in the cosmetics or personal care industry.
  • Strong attention to detail with a high emphasis on accuracy.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Comfortable working independently while proactively asking questions when needed.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft Office tools.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Regulatory Specialist:
  • Exposure to scientific research practices and familiarity with technical or scientific terminology.
Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a closely related scientific discipline.
