Responsibilities:
Collaborate with new product development teams to provide guidance that ensures final product designs meet regional and global agency, standards, and regulatory requirements.
Manage the relationship with third party test houses and approval agencies, lead discussions on interpretations of standards and requirements where necessary
Stay informed of market regulatory trends and upcoming changes. Represent our organization in standards development activities, influencing where appropriate and communicating risks and changes to internal stakeholders
Prepare submission documentation and technical data packages as needed for product certifications
Maintain product certifications by processing timely renewals and confirming that product modifications are compliant and approved.
Support product testing to regulatory requirements in-house and external test facilities, including approval agencies
Provide support to all certification and department related activities, which may include, but is not limited to manufacturing site audits, production line requirements, and customer service inquires
Qualifications:
Special knowledge, skills and abilities required:
Proven ability to simultaneously and independently manage multiple tasks, solve problems, lead projects and work effectively in cross-functional teams with limited supervision
Solid interpersonal skills and communication skills (written, verbal and presentation).
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate technical information and risk evaluations to audiences of all levels, including external stakeholders
Solid documentation skills and attention to detail
Domestic/International travel up to 10%
Preferred:
Knowledge of agency lab certification programs (e.g. CSA, FM, UL)
Proven success collaborating with global teams
Experience in managing the certification process for Hazardous Location protection techniques/certifications
Experience in working with Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratories, Notified Bodies and other International certification agencies requirements.
Project management experience, including use of Risk Assessment tools
SAP experience
Education and experience required:
BSEE or relevant discipline, preferably from an ABET accredited program.
This position is available at multiple career levels, depending on education and experience
Level 1: No experience
Level 2: 2 years of relevant experience
Level 3: 3 years of relevant experience
Level 4: 5 years of relevant experience
Level 5: 7 years of relevant experience
MS degree may be substituted for up to 2 years of experience. PhD may be substituted for up to 4 years of equivalent experience.
