The School District of La Crosse is accepting applications for a 1.0 FTE Regular Education Teacher Assistant at Coulee Montessori beginning the 2026-2027 school year. Projected start date: August 17, 2026.

Required abilities:

Ability to learn and utilize basic methods of procedures to be followed in the classroom and the Library Media Center.

Ability to demonstrate understanding of and enthusiasm for the students.

Ability to use correct and appropriate language with students.

Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.

Ability to maintain cooperative working relationships with all students and staff.

Be willing to participate in workshops, etc., that will benefit the specific subject or job assignment.

Ability to learn and utilize special procedures unique to the assignment, such as crisis intervention techniques, basic first aid, and CPR.

Position responsibilities:

Assist with the supervision of students (including the lunchroom).

Perform a variety of regular clerical duties such as filing, word processing, copying, and preparing instructional materials for teachers.

Operate a variety of instructional media, office and program equipment including software programs.

Help students use computers efficiently.

Work with students (individually and in groups) in classroom and LMC settings.

Assist in the LMC with shelving books in LMC, processing/organizing LMC materials as needed, help with inventory control, and troubleshoot computer problems.

Complete additional tasks as requested by administrators.
