Position Overview:
The Unified School District of Antigo is seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and motivated Regular Education Instructional Assistant to join our team. This position plays a vital role in supporting the educational, behavioral, and social needs of students with disabilities across a variety of school settings. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with special education teachers, general education staff, and support personnel to provide a safe and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide instructional, behavioral, and social support to students under the direction of licensed education staff.
Assist students in classroom participation, organization, and task completion.
Support students with personal care needs as required, which may include toileting, feeding, etc.
Supervise students during non-instructional times (recess, lunch, transitions, etc.).
Monitor and record student progress and behavior.
Maintain confidentiality of student information in accordance with federal and state regulations.
Attend professional development and training sessions as required.
Qualifications:
Required:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to work effectively with students, staff, and families.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Commitment to supporting a diverse and inclusive educational environment.
Preferred:
Experience working with children or individuals with disabilities.
Associate degree or completion of post-secondary coursework in education, child development, or a related field.
CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.
