Position Summary:

The Armstrong Institute (AI) Registry Manager is responsible for managing the respective registry programs for JHH, JHBMC, JHCMC, SBH, ACH and SMH., working with Physician Champions, Hospital Administrators and Quality and Safety teams. The Johns Hopkins Medicine Armstrong Institute Shared Services will be comprised of over 30 nurses and/or health information professionals. This role reports to the JHM AI Director of Clinical Operations and works in collaboration with Clinical Analytics, Patient Safety and Quality and Precision Medicine. This role identifies opportunities to improve patient safety and quality through clinical data review, analysis of performance and outcome measures, and reporting key metrics to executive hospital leadership and professional societies and state regulatory agencies. The manager acts as a systems expert on matters related to clinical quality registries, coding, and data analysis and reporting to support all quality and productivity targets for all services in the health system. This role oversees the day-to-day operations of the clinical registries, ensuring workflow efficiency, resource allocation and adherence to federal, state and local hospital policies and procedures. Develops goals and objectives, trains staff, creates policies and budget recommendations. Responsible for meeting all internal and external regulations and reporting requirements of registry stakeholders. Responsible for the design and implementation of reports, analysis, and trending of data, monitoring of statistical information used to promote and guide quality and cost-effective care. Responsible for ensuring data integrity and validation among a variety of registries and database sources. Coordinates activities related to design and implementation of clinical research projects using registry data.

Education:

  • Requires successful completion of Bachelor's degree from an accredited School in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Public Health or related field,

OR

  • Registered Health Information Administrator - RHIA certification accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM)

OR

  • Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Public Health or related field preferred

Work Experience:

  • • 5-10 years of relevant experience in a hospital, state or free-standing registry
  • • 3 years of personnel management experience preferred
  • • Experience with project management is highly desirable

Salary Range: Minimum 38.44/hour - Maximum 67.27/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
