Augusta Animal Clinic | Indianapolis, Indiana
Augusta Animal Clinic is a privately owned small-animal general practice seeking a veterinary technician who wants to be trusted, respected, and fully involved in patient care.
We are a relationship-centered practice with many long-term clients and patients. Our appointments are not built around rushing as many cases through the hospital as possible. We value thoughtful medicine, clear communication, teamwork, and treating both clients and coworkers with kindness and respect.
A role where you can actually be a technician
We want our technicians to use the skills they have worked hard to develop. Depending on your experience and comfort level, responsibilities may include:
Patient history collection and nursing assessments
Venipuncture and IV catheter placement
In-house laboratory testing and preparation of reference-lab samples
Anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery
Dental prophylaxis and dental radiography
Surgical preparation and assistance
Diagnostic radiography
Medication administration and patient treatments
Technician appointments and outpatient procedures
Client education and follow-up communication
Maintaining accurate medical records
Helping develop efficient patient-care and treatment workflows
You will have a meaningful degree of autonomy within your training and professional scope. We want technicians who notice changes in their patients, think critically, communicate their observations, and take ownership of the care they provide. Questions, ideas, and clinical observations are welcomed.
Who we are looking for
The right candidate will be:
Kind and compassionate with animals and people
Dependable, organized, and attentive to detail
Comfortable communicating directly with clients
Interested in building long-term relationships with clients and patients
Able to work independently while also collaborating with the veterinarian and support team
Confident in their skills but willing to ask questions when appropriate
Committed to maintaining a calm, respectful workplace
Interested in practicing high-quality medicine without a high-pressure corporate atmosphere
Indiana RVT credential preferred. Current veterinary technology students and candidates preparing for credentialing may also be considered.
Experience in anesthesia, dentistry, laboratory procedures, and client communication is especially valuable, but we are willing to support the right person as they strengthen their skills.
Flexible scheduling and life outside work
We understand that our employees have families, responsibilities, appointments, and lives outside the clinic. We make a genuine effort to provide flexible, predictable scheduling and to work with individual availability whenever possible.
Our regular clinic hours are:
Monday–Thursday: 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
Saturday: 8:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.
Closed Friday and Sunday
This position may be structured as part-time or full-time. We are open to discussing the number of days and hours that work best for the right candidate.
