Position Title: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Location: Bedford, IN
Employment Type: Contract / Travel
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Night Shift (18:00 – 06:30) | 4x12 Hours
Schedule: Every 3rd weekend + 1–2 on-call weekends per 6-week schedule
Parking: Free onsite parking available

Job Summary:
Provide respiratory care in a short-term acute care hospital supporting ICU, PCU, and Med-Surg units, including critical care and emergency respiratory support.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver respiratory care for adult and neonatal patients (COPD, asthma, COVID-19, ARDS, RSV)
  • Manage and troubleshoot ventilators (BiPAP, CPAP, SIMV)
  • Assist with intubation and extubation procedures
  • Perform arterial blood gases (ABGs) and basic EKG interpretation
  • Support emergency room and high-risk delivery cases
  • Assist with patient transport between units and external transfers
  • Monitor and respond to ventilator alarms and patient status changes

Requirements:

  • Active Indiana Respiratory Care License required at submission
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
  • Minimum 2 years experience required (5 years preferred)
  • BLS and ACLS required
  • PALS and NRP preferred
  • Experience with ICU, ED, and acute care settings required
  • Experience with ventilators (Hamilton equipment preferred)
  • Cerner EMR experience preferred
  • Strong critical care and emergency response skills
