Work Environment & Patient Demographics

Our facilities function as Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNFs) that offer:

Position Overview

The Occupational Therapist (OT) delivers direct rehabilitation services in occupational therapy to patients based on physician referrals, adhering to all relevant laws, regulations, and organizational standards.

Qualifications and Experience

• NBCOT certification required upon hire; renewal is optional thereafter
• Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy program (BSOT or MSOT)
• Currently registered/licensed in the applicable state, with an active license in good standing throughout employment
• One (1) year of experience preferred; new graduates are welcome to apply
• CPR certification required upon hire or to be obtained during orientation, with ongoing maintenance of certification

Key Responsibilities

• Engage in community health initiatives and projects as appropriate
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email communication
• Collaborate with patients, families, and support departments to effectively address patient needs
• Exhibit proper body mechanics at all times
• Make independent decisions when necessary
• Understand and adhere to practices, procedures, and regulations governing operations in a post-acute care facility
• Implement and interpret departmental programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures
• Demonstrate proficiency in all competency areas, including patient rights, safety, and sanitation
• Maintain professional relationships with colleagues, vendors, and others
• Ensure confidentiality of all proprietary and confidential information
• Comply with organizational policies, including those related to harassment and compliance
• Uphold integrity and professionalism by adhering to the organization's Code of Conduct and completing mandatory compliance training

Essential Duties

• Implement occupational treatment plans for patients (e.g., activities of daily living)
• Set, assess, and adjust realistic, measurable, timely, and functional goals
• Supervise and evaluate care provided by Occupational Therapy Assistants (OTAs), Rehabilitation Aides, and students
• Document care accurately and in a timely manner
• Utilize therapy software effectively and accurately
• Provide excellent customer service and maintain a positive attitude towards patients
• Assist in the safe evacuation of patients when necessary
• Demonstrate reliable and consistent attendance
• Employ reasoning skills and sound judgment
• Communicate effectively and collaborate within an interdisciplinary team
• Engage in physical activities such as sitting, standing, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, stooping, walking, reaching, and moving intermittently during work hours
• Read, write, speak, and comprehend the English language
