We are seeking a Wound Care RN, sometimes referred to as a Wound Care Clinical Coordinator, Wound, Ostomy, and Continence (WOC) Nurse Coordinator, or Wound Care RN Coordinator. The Wound Care RN Clinical Coordinator in our hospital will oversee the assessment, treatment, and prevention of complex wounds, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure effective patient care. They also educate staff, monitor outcomes, and develop protocols to improve wound healing and reduce complications. 

Responsibilities:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to): 

  • Perform comprehensive assessments and provide expert management of complex wounds, including pressure injuries, surgical wounds, diabetic ulcers, and other skin integrity issues 
  • Collaborate closely with physicians, dietitians, physical and occupational therapists, and nursing staff to develop and coordinate individualized wound care plans 
  • Deliver education and hands-on training to clinical staff on evidence-based wound prevention techniques, treatment protocols, and the appropriate use of wound care products 
  • Track wound healing progress through detailed documentation, data analysis, and reporting to support patient outcomes and care quality 
  • Lead hospital-wide efforts to ensure compliance with CMS guidelines, infection control standards, and best practices while developing protocols and driving initiatives to reduce hospital-acquired pressure injuries 
  • Collaborate on Performance Improvement Projects within the Wound Care department 
  • Work with providers on plans of care for patients 
Qualifications:

Education and Work Experience

 

1. Must have current and valid license as a Registered Nurse issued by the state.
2. BLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current.
3. ACLS within 30 days of hire.
4. Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred.
5. Concentrated wound care experience (1 Year).

6. Wound, Ostomy, Continence (WOC) or (WCC) Board Certification preferred.
