Position Summary:

We are searching for a dedicated Registered Nurse to join the Waltham Operating Room team. The Operating Room RN plays a crucial role in delivering patient care during the intra-operative period in the circulating and scrub role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and plan intraoperative nursing care based on the physiological and emotional needs of patients and families, delivering quality care by adhering to perioperative standards.
  • Serve as the liaison between patients, families, and the operating team, collaborating with interdisciplinary team members to implement and evaluate care plans.
  • Prepare the operating room for procedures, document patient care in the EMR and monitor compliance with standards and policies in both circulating and scrub roles.
  • Provide patient- and family-centered care, anticipating individualized care and education needs using an interdisciplinary approach.
  • Manage resources efficiently to ensure optimal patient care and facilitate smooth operations within the surgical suite.
  • Engage in quality improvement activities, communicate any safety concerns, and utilize information technology for effective communication, clinical decision-making, and care coordination.
  • Always working cooperatively with colleagues, emphasizing the provision of high-quality, culturally sensitive, and developmentally appropriate patient care.
  • Working 8 and 10-hour shifts, rotating, with short call and night call requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing

Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of OR circulating and scrub experience
  • Pediatric and orthopedic experience preferred.
  • EPIC preferred

Licensure/Certifications:

  • Current Massachusetts Registered Nurse license.
  • PALS preferred
  • $18,000 sign-on for RNs with over 2 years of OR experience who have not worked at BCH in 2+ years*
  • This position is eligible for a $10,000 Employee Referral Bonus for internal employees*

The posted pay range is Boston Childrens reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.

Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors.
