Job Summary

Job Summary

Coordinates the daily operations of the hospital to ensure operational units are running effectively and efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Provides oversight for multiple hospital departments in the absence of unit management. Addresses patient care, staffing, and any other issues that may arise.
  • Assumes responsibility for supervision and administrative decision making for the care and coordination of nursing and patient care services during the evening, night, weekend, and holiday shifts.
  • Ensures that hospital policies and procedures are followed.
  • Participates in patient care as part of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Acts as the Incident Commander until relieved by a more senior administrator during a hospital disaster.
  • Oversees assignment of patient care services staff from Central Resource Team to units. Relates effectively with other shifts for continuity of care.
  • Oversees flow of medical charts, supplies, and staffing to maintain adequate levels.
  • Trains, coaches, evaluates, and supervises associates on performance expectations and applies progressive discipline when appropriate.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Requirements

  • Education: Graduate of accredited school of Nursing. Completion of Front Line Leadership Development Program within one year.

  • Experience: Three (3) years related experience.

  • Licensure/Certifications:

  • Valid current Arizona Nursing License or compact state license and ability to become Arizona Licensed in 30 days.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart Association, and Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) within 90 days.

  • Preferred Requirements

  • Education: BSN, Bachelor (BS, BA) in related field.

  • Experience: Supervisory experience or experience working in lead or charge capacity.
