This PRN role is ideal for an RN who enjoys teaching and mentoring but prefers a flexible, as‑needed schedule. You will step in to support clinical rotations, supervise students in patient‑care environments, and ensure continuity of instruction when primary faculty are unavailable.

This position allows you to maintain your clinical practice while contributing meaningfully to nursing education.

What You’ll Do

  • Student Support — Address concerns between students and institutional staff and provide guidance on clinical techniques and methods.

  • Progress Monitoring — Monitor weekly student progress and coordinate Academic Success Plans with the Clinical Director.

  • Professional Engagement — Attend faculty meetings when scheduled and maintain professionalism with students, staff, and clinical partners.

  • Maintain Clinical Competency — Stay current in clinical practice and remain informed of changes in the nursing profession.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Baccalaureate degree with a major in nursing, or currently enrolled in a bachelor degree program in nursing, from a Nursing Education Program with a national nursing accreditation.

  • Three (3) years occupational (i.e., practical) experience as a nurse providing direct patient care.

  • One (1) year nursing teaching experience.

  • Current Colorado RN license and any other credential as required by local, state and/or federal laws to work as a Registered Nurse in Colorado.

  • Verbal and written communications skills.

  • Knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and computer skills.

Why This Role Works

  • Flexible PRN schedule ideal for nurses balancing clinical work and teaching

  • Competitive hourly compensation

  • Opportunity to mentor future LPNs without full‑time commitment

  • Supportive academic and clinical leadership team

  • Meaningful impact on student confidence, competence, and career readiness
