Registered Nurse - SOS Program - Manhattan

A leading nonprofit supporting individuals and communities through mental health, social services, and recovery programs is seeking a full time Registered Nurse (RN) for their The Safe Options Support (SOS) Team in Manhattan.  SOS Teams help connect with people experiencing homelessness to help meet their needs and support their access to housing.

Compensation:
Salary: $92,000 plus an additional $2k for anyone who is Bilingual Spanish

Job Summary:
• The Safe Options Support (SOS) Teams use the Critical Time Intervention (CTI) model to help individuals experiencing homelessness.
• The goal is to connect people living on the streets or subways to housing, social services, and community supports.
• Teams conduct outreach above and below ground and collaborate with the MTA and community partners to address safety concerns and engage those disconnected from services.

Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct health assessments for program members.
• Provide community-based nursing support (non-prescriptive).
• Assist members with housing navigation, food stamps, program enrollment, and medical needs.
• Participate in canvassing 1–2 times per week to engage individuals in need.
• Coordinate mental health and housing supports.
• Evaluate the need for ER or hospital involvement in rare cases (no medication administration).

Candidate Qualifications:
• RN license (new graduates welcome to apply).
• Interest in community-based, street outreach nursing.
• Ability to engage vulnerable populations with empathy and professionalism.

Program Member Eligibility:
• SOS works with individuals 18+ who are street homeless or disconnected from services.
• Enrollment is prioritized for those with behavioral health needs but is open to all meeting criteria.
