As a Surgery RN at The Women's Hospital, you'll play a vital role in supporting patients through surgical procedures, ensuring safe, compassionate, and high-quality care from pre-operative preparation through recovery.

    This role offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment where clinical expertise, critical thinking, and attention to detail directly impact patient outcomes. You'll partner closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and perioperative teams to support a seamless surgical experience for every patient.

    What Youll Do

    • Provide direct nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures in a women's health-focused environment.
    • Prepare patients for surgery, including assessment, verification of orders, and patient education.
    • Coordinate and implement individualized plans of care across the perioperative continuum.
    • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical staff to ensure safe, efficient procedures.
    • Monitor patient status and respond to changes using strong clinical judgment and evidence-based practice.
    • Support intraoperative and immediate post-operative care as needed.
    • Educate patients and families regarding procedures, recovery expectations, and follow-up care.
    • Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and thoroughly.

    Required

    • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Indiana or another compact licensure state.

    Preferred

    • BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing).
    • Previous surgery or perioperative nursing experience.
