As a PACU RN you will assist with high acuity patients and enjoy the support of an awesome team
Our PACU at Baxter Regional Medical Center consists of 13 beds with 5 extended recovery beds. The Registered Nurses RNs on our team help to recover a wide variety of patients from pediatric to geriatric. Our cases include General Surgery Orthopedics Neurological Cardiovascular Plastics Ear Nose Throat ENT Urology and Gynecological GYN procedures. Patient acuity is from basic care to intensive care. Our unit follows ASPAN and Hospital Standards. Our busy fast paced unit has a 11 patient ratio with occasional 21. We do require call but you will have most weekends and holidays off. Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care for assigned patients on the Post-Operative unit and participating as a member of the nursing team. Responsible for the care given to the patient and for the decision regarding which nursing tasks can be safely delegated to licensed and unlicensed persons involved in patient care. Must be proficient in a wide variety of high level nursing skills as well as adhering to all standards of nursing care and promoting a team effort among coworkers. Responsible for assessing planning implementing and coordinating patient care from admission to discharge. Dedicated to exceeding the expectations of our patients while meeting their individualized health and perioperative needs in collaboration with our physicians and facility administrative procedures. Collaborate with all members of the health care team with a focus on promoting evidence based care within a healing culture for the patient population served and their families.
Job Requirements
Education Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. ADN required. BSN or MSN preferred.
Licensure Current Arkansas or Compact State RN License in good standing.
Experience Minimum of one 1 year acute care nursing or PACU experience preferred.
Certification BLS required. ACLS within the first three 3 months of employment and PALS within the first six 6 months of employment
