Pay Range: $50 - $55/hour.
Key Responsibilities:
Schedule: Day shifts (schedule varies) – 36 or 48 hours expected per week (contract options available)
Manage a 1:4 patient ratio in a 16 20 bed medical step down unit.
Monitor and manage patients with complex medical conditions including sepsis, heart failure, respiratory failure, and neurological issues.
Administer medications, titrate drips, and manage cardiac monitors as needed.
Perform comprehensive assessments and intervene promptly based on changing patient conditions.
Collaborate with intensivists, hospitalists, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary teams.
Educate patients and families on disease management, medications, and discharge planning.
Maintain accurate documentation in EMR (EPIC).
Respond to rapid changes in patient status and escalate care appropriately.
Key Requirements and Technology Experience:
Must have skills: - Registered Nurse, RN, Progressive Care, Step Down, IMCU, ACLS, BLS
Active RN License (GA or Compact State)
AHA BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
Minimum 2 years of recent experience in progressive care, step down, IMCU, or similar high acuity setting
Experience in a Level 1 trauma or large hospital setting (preferred)
Ability to work day shifts (schedule varies), 36 or 48 hours guaranteed per week (contract options)
Both local and travel candidates considered – local candidates eligible to apply
Strong critical thinking, cardiac monitoring, and drips management skills
Proficiency in cardiac rhythm interpretation and telemetry monitoring
Strong understanding of vasoactive and antiarrhythmic drip titration
Excellent assessment and rapid intervention skills
Ability to manage complex, multi morbid patients
Strong communication and teamwork in a high acuity setting
Compassionate, patient first mindset
