Registered Nurse (RN) – Non-Invasive Cardiology Stress Testing; Orlando Health Lakeland Highlands Hospital

Our new facility at 4000 Lakeland Highlands Road, Lakeland, FL, the Nuclear Medicine Laboratory will require seven-day-per-week coverage from both EKG Technologists and Registered Nurses (RNs) to support Nuclear Medicine and Graded Exercise Stress Testing (GXT) services. Monitors, adjusts, and manages specialized patient care equipment while interpreting and documenting electronic data, including intracranial pressures, central venous pressures, pulmonary artery pressures, cardiac rhythms, respirators, ventilators, oxygen pumps, and other monitoring devices.

Position Summary:

 

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to support our Nuclear Medicine and Non-Invasive Cardiology Stress Testing program. The ideal candidate will have experience performing and monitoring pharmacologic and exercise stress testing, including Lexiscan, Bruce Protocol treadmill testing, and Dobutamine Stress Echocardiography. This role works closely with Nuclear Medicine, Echocardiography, and Cardiology providers to deliver safe, high-quality cardiovascular care.

In this role, the Registered Nurse will collaborate closely with Nuclear Medicine technologists, Echocardiography staff, cardiologists, and other members of the cardiovascular team to ensure the safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery of diagnostic cardiac testing. The successful candidate will possess strong clinical assessment skills, the ability to recognize and respond to changes in patient condition during testing, and a commitment to providing exceptional patient-centered care throughout the diagnostic process.

Schedule & Availability

• Full-time position (2 openings available)
• Flexible daytime schedule, Monday through Friday
• Standard hours: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
• Occasional weekend coverage may be required based on business needs

Experience & Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of cardiac stress testing experience preferred
• Hands-on experience performing a variety of cardiac stress testing procedures, including:
  • Lexiscan (Regadenoson) stress testing
  • Bruce Protocol treadmill testing
  • Dobutamine Stress Echocardiography
  • Exercise treadmill stress testing
• Strong knowledge of cardiac rhythm interpretation and emergency response procedures
• Experience working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including:
  • Nuclear Medicine
  • Echocardiography
  • Cardiologists and Advanced Practice Providers

Qualifications:

Education & Training

• Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
• Successfully meets all mandatory, developmental, and performance competency requirements established by Orlando Health and the assigned unit/department.

Licensure & Certifications

• Maintains a current State of Florida Registered Nurse (RN) license or a valid eNLC multistate RN license.
• Maintains current Basic Life Support (BLS) / Healthcare Provider certification.
• Advanced certifications may be required based on specialty area, including:
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
• NRP certification is required for positions within the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

Experience

• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience required.
