Registered Nurse (RN), Non-Invasive Cardiology, Full Time, Days

Responsible for performing safe and effective cardiac stress tests (i.e., treadmills, thallium treadmills, pharmacological stress tests, stress echocardiograms, pharmacologic stress echocardiograms); pacemaker checks; arrhythmia surveillance monitoring, prepare patients for and assist with diagnostic procedures, including Transesophageal Echocardiograms (TEEs), cardioversions, tilt-table tests, and blood pressure monitoring on a given group of patients. The fully integrated network is comprised of PIH Health Downey Hospital, PIH Health Good Samaritan Hospital, PIH Health Whittier Hospital, 35 outpatient medical office buildings, a multispecialty medical (physician) group, home healthcare services and hospice care, as well as heart, cancer, digestive health, orthopedics, women’s health, urgent care and emergency services.

• Knowledge and experience with conscious sedation medications and their reversal agents.
• Knowledge and demonstrated skill using special equipment such as monitors, infusion pumps, temporary pacemakers, O2 equipment, SPO2 monitors, EKG machines, defibrillators, etc..

Required Experience

Required Experience

Required: 

• Graduated from an approved School of Nursing.
• Current license as a Registered Nurse in California.
• BCLS and ACLS certification.
• Evidence of continuing education and self-development
• Minimum of two (2) years experience in a Cardiovascular unit.
• Demonstrates teaching ability in a formal and/or informal setting. 
• LA City Fire Card within 6 months of employment (PHGSH only)

Preferred: 

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Two-year experience in the ICU.
