    We are seeking experienced Emergency Department (ED) Registered Nurses (RNs) to support the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center during the Federal Electronic Health Record (EHR) implementation. The ED RN will provide rapid, high-quality care to patients with acute illnesses and injuries, ensuring timely interventions and patient stabilization in a fast-paced environment.
    Key Responsibilities
    Provide emergency nursing care to patients with acute and life-threatening conditions
    Perform rapid patient assessments and triage based on severity
    Administer medications, IVs, and emergency treatments as required
    Monitor patient conditions and respond quickly to changes
    Assist in trauma cases, cardiac emergencies, and critical situations
    Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams for immediate care decisions
    Document all patient interactions and treatments accurately in the EHR system
    Educate patients and families on care plans and discharge instructions
    Ensure compliance with VA policies, HIPAA, and clinical standards
    Required Qualifications
    Graduate from an accredited nursing program (ACEN or CCNE)
    Active RN license (Ohio or Compact State - NLC)
    Minimum 2+ years of recent Emergency Department or acute care experience (within last 3 years)
    Current BLS certification (AHA required)
    Current ACLS certification (Mandatory)
    Strong critical thinking, triage, and decision-making skills
    Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment
    Preferred Qualifications
    Prior VA or federal healthcare experience
    Certifications such as PALS or TNCC (preferred)
    Experience with trauma and cardiac emergency care
    Familiarity with EHR systems
