Our partnering facility is seeking a qualified Registered Nurse (RN) Director – Vascular Access Services (VAS) – Full-Time to join their clinical team. Responsibilities: The Vascular Access Director coordinates and manages the Vascular Access Service Team. This position demonstrates critical thinking skills and scientific judgment. This position demonstrates leadership in the anticipation, planning, coordination, and provision of care for the patient while performing clinical insertion of a Vascular Access Catheter. This position will collaborate with the facilities management staff regarding planning, communicating, implementing, providing education programs, managing resources, minimizing costs, and promoting teamwork. The position is responsible and accountable for the placement and monitoring of Vascular Access Devices by staff. The Director is expected to work with minimal supervision reporting to the Vice President of Clinical Services and in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act and hospital/department policies. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: Represents the VPCS when necessary and acts on his/her behalf in his/her absence Consults with and advises the VPCS on problems relating to the operation of the region/markets Accurately assesses, plans, designs, integrates, coordinates and directs services using a collaborative process, according to the scope of service offered that is consistent with resource allocation, organization policies and operational plans Coordinates and integrates services within the facilities to achieve key performance indicators and benchmarks Completes written performance evaluations on all personnel by evaluation date Execution of facility and company policies Adheres to Code of Conduct and Mission & Value Statement. Professional development of staff Completes goals established within the allotted timeframe Maintains confidentiality and appropriate access of all employee information. Participates in special projects as needed and performs other duties as assigned Maintains a professional atmosphere and relationship with facility leadership teams JOB REQUIREMENTS: This position requires the following minimal requirements: Skill in planning, organizing, and implementing work assignments or projects Excellent oral and written communication skills Ability to Work well with others in a spirit of teamwork and cooperation Training and motivation of staff Ability to strengthen relationships with facilities, vendors, and hospital leadership teams Effectively deals with conflict Experience using computer software tools such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Outlook Ability to handle multiple priorities Ability to make decisions under pressure Maintains working area and equipment in accordance with environmental and safety regulations EDUCATION – Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s Degree preferred. EXPERIENCE 1 to 3 years Critical Care experience and Supervisory/Management experience. More than 5 years of experience working with a PICC team. Must have a minimum of 5000 PICC insertions. CERTIFICATE/LICENSE – RN License Required.
