The purpose of the Registered Nurse position is to support the physicians andor mid-level providers in the practice with clinical activities and direct patient care. The RN may also assist in appointment scheduling and other related activities for optimal patient service. RNs by nature of licensure have an oversight responsibility to other clinical staff LPNs and medical assistants.

Roles and Responsibilities

Performs professional nursing care in accordance with the New York State Nursing Practice Act. Carries out all assigned nursing procedures for the comfort and well-being of patients per practice Takes and records patients vital Performs triage for physiciansproviders with regard to clinical questions prescription refills test results and other patient calls per practice protocols. Prepares patients record for visit and patient education as directed by physicianprovider Maintains compliance regulations. Participates in scheduled team meetings to discuss clarify roles responsibility processes and patient issues Participates in quality improvement activities and committees as requested. Provide care management by communicating with community agencies as appropriate. Works with all members of the team to achieve patient-centered care as well as quality care by using the best practice standards and case management.

This position is Full time Monday-Friday 800 am-430 pm

Required Skills and Experience

Graduation from an accredited RN program Current NYS licensure as a Registered Nurse BLS Certification

Preferred Skills and Experience

Basic knowledge of diseases and treatment Knowledge of medical insurance carriers and how to obtain prior authorization Knowledge and ability to perform manual blood pressure checks

Physical Requirements

Standing-- 70 Sitting-- 30 Reaching- 80 Bending-- 50 Lifting-- must be able to lift 40lb.

Location and Travel Requirements

Location Onsite at 401 Cayuga Park Lane Ithaca NY 14850 Shift Monday through Friday 800am - 430pm with flex Travel 0 Travel can be expected in this role

Pay Range Disclosure

35.63 to 44.18 per hour
