Registered Nurse (RN) – Acute Rehabilitation (PM&R)

Location: Rochester, New York 14642

Assignment Length: 13 weeks

Hours per Week: 36 hours (Option for 48 hours may be available)

Schedule: Monday - Friday

Compensation: $2,450 – $2,484/week (Estimated Gross)

Position Summary & Responsibilities

  • Provide high-intensity clinical care and emotional support to patients regaining independence in an acute rehabilitation setting.

  • Care for a diverse patient population (Pediatric and Adult) recovering from Stroke, Brain Injury, Spinal Cord Injury (SCI), Trauma, Oncology, and Solid Organ Transplants.

  • Monitor Telemetry and proactively identify changes in patient status or medically complex needs.

  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team (PT/OT/SLP) to coordinate intensive therapy and discharge planning.

  • Educate patients and families on rehabilitation goals, exercises, and post-discharge self-care.

  • Ensure all clinical documentation is accurate, timely, and compliant with URMC (Strong Memorial Hospital) standards.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Nursing program (ASN or BSN).

  • Current and active New York State (NYS) RN License is mandatory.

  • Minimum of 2 years of recent clinical experience in a Med/Surg or Acute Rehab environment.

  • Active Telemetry experience is required.

  • Valid BLS certification (AHA or RQI only).

  • Recent experience with Pediatric populations is a significant plus.

  • Must be able to work 12-hour rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.
