Job Description
Overview The Clinical Nurse Resource serves as a vital member of the Indiana University Health system float pool, embodying the mission, vision, and values of IU Health. Accountability Accountable for the provision and coordination of competent, evidence-based care across the continuum-from assessment and diagnosis to outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Actively participates in clinical decision-making, teaching, mentoring, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to advance patient care plans, achieve optimal outcomes, and enhance operational efficiency.
Professional Integrity Adheres to the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice and the Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements, ensuring professional integrity and high-quality care in every setting. Requires system-wide flexibility and clinical versatility to provide essential coverage across a wide range of inpatient settings-including medical-surgical, progressive care, critical care, emergency, and specialty units-based on real-time staffing needs and patient acuity.
Requirements
• Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN) or Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) degree, with BSN preferred. • Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) required for those newly hired or promoted into the position after October 1, 2025. • Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license. • Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program. • 2 years of experience preferred. • Requires Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association (AHA). • Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit, department, specialty, according to patient care policies.
