Travel Registered Nurse – Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)

Location: 1000 Johnson Ferry Road NE, Atlanta, GA 30342
Duration: 13 Weeks
Schedule: Days, 4×10-Hour Shifts (Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 6:30 PM) – 40 Hours/Week
Department: 666A PACU – 3rd Floor
Local Policy: No local candidates within 50 miles

Position Summary

Northside Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) for a 13-week travel assignment. The ideal candidate will have recent PACU experience and be proficient in providing post-operative care, monitoring patients recovering from anesthesia, and responding to changes in patient condition.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of recent PACU nursing experience
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) License
  • Current AHA BLS
  • Current AHA ACLS
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive care to patients recovering from anesthesia following surgical and procedural interventions.
  • Monitor airway, hemodynamic status, neurological status, and pain management during the recovery phase.
  • Recognize and respond promptly to post-anesthesia complications and emergency situations.
  • Administer medications, IV fluids, and blood products as ordered.
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe patient recovery.
  • Educate patients and families regarding post-operative care and discharge instructions.
  • Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
