1. CLINICAL JUDGEMENT:
   • Demonstrates a knowledge base necessary to care for adolescents through geriatric patients in the psychiatric care setting.
   • Contribute to a treatment plan appropriate for the patient based on the nursing assessment and in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.  Recognizes the need to change the plan based on the patient’s goals and responses.
   • Functions independently to arrive at an appropriate solution as a result of sound decision-making and critical thinking skills.

• Utilizes educational strategies including collaboration with hospital and community resources that are based on the needs of the patient and family.
• Begins the discharge process upon admission and accurately documents all teaching and discharge instructions on the appropriate form in a timely manner.
• Evaluates the need for patient/family education based on the nursing assessment and treatment plan.
• Provides thorough explanation of the treatment plan to the patient/family and assess the comprehension of information.
• Involves the patient and/or family in creating a safer patient care delivery process by encouraging them to ask questions about medications, progress toward treatment goals and outpatient follow-up.
• Collaborates with referral sources and external agencies in the transition to outpatient follow-up.

1. Registered Nurse with licensure in the State of Ohio. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
2. Two (2) years nursing experience working in surgery, critical care.  Behavioral health preferred
3. CPR Certification required within 30 days of hire.
4. ACLS certification required annually
5. Certification of Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing from the American Nurse Association Credentialing Center (preferred)
6. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-specific and developmentally appropriate care for the spectrum of populations admitted to LCOH.
7. Effective leadership skills and the ability to build a strong departmental team.  Function effectively as a team member with other staff members of the Lindner Center of HOPE.
8. Ability to enthusiastically follow and model the Lindner Center of HOPE mission, vision and values.
