Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – PACU (Recovery Room)

Location: Hyannis, MA
Duration: 13 Weeks
Schedule: Day/Evening Shift | 5x8-Hour Shifts
Shift Times: Variable Start Times (11:00 AM – 7:30 PM or 1:00 PM – 9:30 PM)

Compensation: $2,600 - $3,000 Weekly (Based on Experience)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) assignment. The RN will provide comprehensive post-operative patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation while ensuring safe recovery from anesthesia and surgical procedures. This role requires strong critical care skills, exceptional clinical judgment, and the ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality patient care throughout the post-anesthesia recovery process.
  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including physical, psychological, and discharge readiness evaluations.
  • Monitor and respond to patient conditions following surgical and procedural interventions.
  • Administer medications and treatments while monitoring patient responses and outcomes.
  • Document assessments, interventions, and patient progress accurately in the electronic medical record.
  • Communicate critical patient information to physicians and other healthcare team members.
  • Serve as a clinical resource and mentor to nursing staff when needed.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with computerized nursing documentation and healthcare information systems.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, staff meetings, and professional development activities.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and uphold professional nursing standards.
  • Assist with patient and family education regarding recovery and discharge instructions.

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
  • BSN preferred.

Licensure & Certifications

  • Active Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
  • Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification.
  • Current PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification.
  • Successful completion of required pharmacology and arrhythmia competency assessments prior to start.

Experience

  • Minimum one (1) year of recent experience within the last five (5) years in PACU, SDC, ICU, CVICU, CVPA, or Emergency Department settings.
  • Previous PACU or Same Day Care experience preferred.
  • Experience with IV starts, hemodynamic monitoring, and ventilator management required.

  • Proficiency with electronic medical records and nursing informatics systems.
