Baptist Health is looking for a Registered Nurse to join our Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) at our Baptist South location. This is a Full-Time Evenings shift position. This Registered Nurse position has a call requirement, and it is self-scheduled based on department needs and will require a 40-minute call response time. This role qualifies for competitive differentials and additional call compensation. Scheduled shift: 9:30am-10:00pm
As a Registered Nurse in the PACU, your daily responsibilities will include monitoring post-operative patients' levels of recovery and consciousness from anesthesia. This position also requires treating pain, nausea, and other post-operative symptoms of anesthesia and administering medication a prescribed. To ensure a smooth recovery, an RN in this position will also regularly check vital signs to quickly interrupt any potential issues. Educating patients and their families on post-surgery care as well as updating charts, patient files, and medical records will be an important aspect of this role.
