Nursing is responsible for the delivery of safe and efficient quality nursing care. Examines patients and administers prescribed medications to facilitate healing and increase comfort. Nursing requires training and or licensed to care for patients.


The Registered Nurse works in the radiation oncology outpatient clinic at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette, LA. They work closely with the Radiation Oncologist preparing patients for Initial Consult, Established Consult and Follow Up visits. They deliver direct patient care, collaborate closely with physicians and other healthcare providers to care for patients, including those diagnosed with cancer. ​


_Responsibilities_


+ Room patients after they check in for their scheduled appointments

+ Complete chart reviews and updates prior to the provider meeting with the patient

+ Assess any issues or concerns with the patients

+ Check vitals, update health history and perform an overall health assessment, addressing any areas of concern

+ Collaborate with other office staff in a team environment

+ Other duties as assigned


_Qualifications_


+ At least 2 years of experience as an RN, preferred

+ Associates Degree of Science in Nursing

+ Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred

+ Previous experience working within radiation oncology is a plus

+ Inpatient experience, or experience in an outpatient specialty clinic, preferred

+ Active RN license in the state of Louisiana, in good standing

+ Ability to work Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week


Anticipated hourly range: $28.20 per hour - $42.42 per hour
