Job Title: Registered Nurse – Outpatient Family Practice Clinic

Location: Polson, MT

Duration: 13-Week Contract

Schedule: Day Shift – 5x8-Hour Shifts

Hours: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Guaranteed Hours: 40 Hours Weekly

Position Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and organized Registered Nurse (RN) to support patient care in a busy Outpatient Family Practice Clinic. The ideal candidate will provide clinical nursing support, assist with preventative care services, coordinate patient follow-up, and collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure high-quality outpatient care. This role is best suited for nurses who enjoy working in an ambulatory care setting and are comfortable in a non-bedside environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing support for patients receiving care in an outpatient family practice setting.
  • Assist providers with patient assessments, examinations, and clinical procedures.
  • Perform point-of-care (POC) testing and document results accurately.
  • Administer immunizations and other ordered treatments in accordance with clinical protocols.
  • Manage patient follow-up activities, including phone calls, care coordination, and patient education.
  • Monitor and respond to patient messages, refill requests, and clinical inquiries through the electronic medical record system.
  • Support preventative health initiatives and chronic disease management programs.
  • Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
  • Educate patients regarding treatment plans, medications, immunizations, and follow-up care.
  • Ensure compliance with infection prevention, patient safety, and regulatory standards.
  • Float between outpatient clinic locations as needed to support operational requirements.

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program required.

Licensure & Certifications

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) License required.
  • Current BLS Certification required.

Experience

  • Previous outpatient clinic, family practice, primary care, ambulatory care, or physician office experience preferred.
  • First-time travelers accepted.
  • Experience with immunizations, patient education, and outpatient nursing workflows preferred.
  • Experience using electronic medical records required; EPIC experience preferred.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong clinical assessment and patient care skills.
  • Experience performing point-of-care testing and routine nursing procedures.
  • Knowledge of immunization administration and patient education principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to manage patient follow-up activities and care coordination tasks.
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records and clinical documentation systems.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to providing patient-centered care in an outpatient setting.

Additional Information

  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Monday through Friday schedule.
  • No weekends required.
  • No on-call responsibilities.
  • Floating between outpatient clinic locations may be required based on operational needs.
  • Alternative scheduling options, including four 10-hour shifts per week, may be considered based on clinic needs.
  • Candidates should be comfortable working in an outpatient clinic environment rather than a bedside hospital setting.
