Kapiolani Medical Center for Women & Children is Hawaiis only maternity newborn and pediatric specialty hospital. It is well recognized as Hawaiis leader in the care of women infants and children. With 253 beds the not-for-profit hospital delivers 6000 babies a year and is also a medical teaching and research facility. Specialty services for patients throughout Hawaii and the Pacific Region include intensive care for infants and children 24-hour emergency pediatric and adult care critical care air transport and high-risk perinatal care. Over 1400 employees and more than 700 physicians provide specialty care at Kapiolani. The hospital is home to the Kapiolani Womens Center and the Womens Cancer Center and offers numerous community programs and services such as specialty pediatric clinics the Kapiolani Child Protection Center and the Sex Abuse Treatment Center. At Kapi'olani Medical Center for Women & Children the Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit provides continuous acute care to newborns of up to three months including meeting the complex psychosocial needs of both the child and their family. Nursing and medical support staff in the NICU work with the Neonatology team to care for premature babies and assist in pediatric surgeries providing care to newborn infants with cardiovascular andor respiratory disease and infants requiring treatments for various diagnoses including infection and surgery. Support and education is delivered to patients and family in an atmosphere that promotes bonding of the family unit. If you are a compassionate sensitive caregiver and enjoy working in a team-oriented environment you could be the ideal candidate for our Registered Nurse position. You would provide nursing services through the assessment planning implementation evaluation and documentation of patient care in our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. You would also function as an associate to a charge nurse and eventually assume charge nurse responsibilities. One 1 year recent acute care Registered Nurse experience in a Newborn Intensive Care unit NICU. Preferred Qualifications Bachelors degree in Nursing or related field. More than two 2 years recent acute care Registered Nurse experience in a Newborn Intensive Care unit NICU.
