Contract Details

• Position Type: Contract
• Contract Duration: 6 months
• Pay Rate: $55.00 / Hour (USD)
• Shift / Schedule: Nights, 18:45 7:15 (4 12 Hours); 36 or 48 hours accepted. If 48, then no OT billed until after 48 hours.
• Work Authorization: Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.

Job Summary

This is a Neuro Unit position at a regional medical center, focused on general medicine with an emphasis on neurological patient care. The unit operates on a manager-scheduled format with a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio. Contract staff will be assigned and expected to work a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team, and may be required to report to work during a catastrophic event, mass casualty, or disaster. Consolidation to the Centralized Office mid-contract may occur, and contract staff may be pre-assigned to units as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide patient care on a Neuro Unit with a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Apply a teamwork approach to patient care with a focus on patient safety
• Utilize unit systems including Pyxis, EPIC, and SBAR for medication management, documentation, and communication
• Work weekends as required (5 6 weekend shifts, equating to every other weekend)
• Float as required travelers float first
• Participate in Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team assignments as directed
• Report to work during catastrophic events, mass casualty situations, or disasters as required
• Adapt to potential mid-contract consolidation to the Centralized Office and pre-assignment to units as needed
• Experience with or willingness to learn the charge nurse role preferred

Education Requirements

• Active RN License required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) Required
• BLS (Basic Life Support) Required
• Must pass EKG Testing prior to start for this specialty

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Local candidates accepted

• Unit Orientation: 24 hours
• Scrubs: Not provided Navy Blue required
• Flu Vaccination: Required (medical/religious exemptions only)
• Contract staff may be assigned to Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team duties and required to report during catastrophic events, mass casualty situations, or disasters

Important Notes

• RTO (Return to Origin) Policy: RTO after booking is not allowed and is not allowed to be worked out onsite. Any call-offs or additional RTO on unit could possibly result in contract cancellation and DNR (Do Not Rehire).
• RTO Cap: 7 days maximum for AYA Auto Offer.
• Must pass EKG Testing prior to start this is required for this specialty.
• Flu vaccination is required; medical and religious exemptions only.
