Title: Registered Nurse/Medical Surgical
Location: Battle Creek MI
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights 7 PM to 7.30 AM


Job Details
  • Local rate applies to travelers residing within 50 miles of the facility (see CDM for local rate details).
  • Holiday coverage is required. Holiday RTO requests cannot be guaranteed.
  • 36- or 48-hour workweeks available.
  • Must be available for the first two weeks of the assignment.
  • Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed or approved at this time.
  • Every other weekend required.

Licensure & Certifications

  • Active Michigan RN License required (pending license accepted; ETA must be provided).
  • BLS Certification through AHA required (pending certification accepted; candidate must be willing to obtain before start).

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg experience required.
  • 2+ years of Med/Surg experience preferred.

Unit Information – Medical/Surgical/Oncology Unit (C5)

  • 37-bed Medical, Surgical, and Oncology unit.
  • Provides care for a broad range of medical patients.
  • Specializes in gastrointestinal (GI), urological, and gynecological surgical patients.

Patient Population

  • General medical diagnoses.
  • Orthopedic/neurovascular patients.
  • Cardiac/pulmonary patients.
  • Surgical patients including:
    • GI surgeries
    • Urology procedures
    • Hysterectomies
    • Mastectomies

Staffing & Ratios

  • Night shift ratio: 1:5–6.
  • Ratios may flex up to 8 patients; in these situations, RNs are paired with an LPN for additional support.
  • Collaborative care environment with RNs, LPNs, and Patient Care Technicians/Techs.

Floating Requirements

  • Must be willing to float to other Med/Surg units based on staffing needs.
  • Floating typically occurs approximately once per week.
  • Candidate must be comfortable working with a variety of staff members and care teams.
