Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) – Med Surg/Ortho to join our team for a 13-week contract in Omaha, NE. This role is ideal for a compassionate and adaptable RN who thrives in a fast-paced medical-surgical and orthopedic environment and is committed to providing high-quality patient care during night shifts.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct patient care on the Med Surg/Orthopedic unit, including assessments, medication administration, wound care, and mobility assistance.
Monitor and document patients' progress and communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other nurses to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients recovering from surgery, injury, or illness.
Educate patients and families about treatment plans, recovery processes, and discharge instructions.
Adhere to hospital protocols, safety regulations, and infection control policies.
Qualifications:
Active RN license in the state of Nebraska (or compact license).
Minimum of 1 year recent experience in a Med Surg or Ortho unit.
Current BLS certification (ACLS preferred).
Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team during night shifts.
