Services Office of Integrated Health Support Network (OIHSN) is seeking a highly motivated, skilled, well organized, experienced, and proactive Registered Nurse to work collaboratively with the other Registered Nurse Care Consultants (RNCC) and the larger OIHSN interdisciplinary team across the Commonwealth. The RNCC position provides nursing education and consultation for community-based health providers and services primarily working with individuals with Intellectual (ID) and Developmental Disabilities (DD) in collaboration with the Director. This RNCC works with a variety of data sources, informatics tools and data analysis programs and processes to design and implement quality initiatives that support evidence-based practices. The position works closely with a variety of agency-based team members including other offices within DBHDS Division of Developmental Disabilities, Community Service Boards, community-based health services providers, institutions and hospitals, and other stakeholders to assist in identifying needed health services / supports and reducing barriers for individuals with I/DD and other special needs. This RNCC will act as a liaison between partners and Central Office, reviewing and assisting with complex cases, identifying resources, and supporting providers to meet the individual's health and safety needs within the state and federal regulations and requirements. The position provides assistance and support toward the goal of community integration of individuals with DD, who are moving into the community from the state based and private institutions, together r the Community Nursing Team helps to identify available health services and assists in community education for those providers who lack experience working with individuals with ID/DD and other co-morbid conditions.
We are recruiting for two (2) RNCC positions. These are full-time and benefits eligible. These are field staff positions. Much of the work is conducted virtually, however, travel and overnights are periodically needed to provide onsite technical assistance, delivery of large and small trainings, in-person presentations, meetings with partners, participation on workgroups and other projects. Position location is flexible with travel to Richmond and statewide as needed. Primary service areas will be northern, central and eastern Virginia.
