SCHEDULING DETAILS AND CHARTING

" Shift hours: 3x12s, nights, 645p-715a

" Charting: Experience with any electronic charting system-required

" Weekend Requirement: May be EOW or 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week scheduling block

" On call required variable amount; maximum 24 hours per 6 week schedule block

" RTO, Block & Special Scheduling Requests: ALL requests must be included with the submission.

" Call off Policy: Facility is allowed to call off 1 shift per 2-weeks.

" Holiday Requirement: Must work one holiday per 13-week contract.

" Accept First-Time Travelers: Yes

" Locals Accepted? No. Refer to the Submittal Instructions for radius rule criteria.

" Pending License Accepted: Yes, only if the candidate holds a single-state license from a non-compact state. Otherwise, submission must include an active Virginia State or Compact RN/LPN license.

Use of EFM (External Fetal Heart Monitoring)

" Fetal monitoring: Recognition and Treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns ***Use of External Fetal Monitoring, Use of Internal Fetal Monitoring,
Use of IUPC (Intrauterine pressure catheter) placement and calibration

" Medications: Antihypertensives, Insulin drips, Magnesium Sulfate therapy,
Pitocin (oxytocin), Prostaglandins, Terbutaline

" Unit Info: Located on 13 South, Labor and Delivery is a 24 bed unit providing specialized care to low and high risk pregnant patients during the antepartum period through delivery. We are the referring center for high risk pregnancies for Southwest VA, receiving patients within an approximate 150 mile radius. We accept pregnant patients over the gestational age of 20 weeks. We also maintain a 3 bed triage area, 2 ORs and 2 post-anesthesia beds. Our deliveries average 250 per month. Our triage patients average 350 per month.
