Job Overview : Central Vermont Medical Center is seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a travel assignment. The RN will provide care in Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, Newborn, and LDRP units, including Med/Surg overflow as needed. Candidates must have LDRP experience in a community hospital environment without NICU resources on-site.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver direct patient care to laboring mothers, postpartum patients, and newborns
Maintain 1:1 patient ratio during active labor or on Pitocin; manage 2 3 patients per RN in couplets
Participate in neonatal resuscitations, assign APGAR scores, and administer newborn medications
Perform IV starts, lab draws, PACU post C-section care, and removal of epidural catheters
Document care in Epic EMR and administer medications via Pyxis
Collaborate with CNA/PCT/Perinatal Techs and unit staff
Float within the organization as needed, assisting other units
Cover call shifts and required holidays
Qualifications Required:
RN licensure in Vermont (pending licenses accepted case by case)
Minimum 1 year L&D experience with LDRP competency
BLS and NRP certifications
Recent Epic EMR experience (within 2 years)
Travel nursing experience
