St. Josephs is bringing together the strengths of two exceptional care teamsOncology and Hospitalist/Complex Medical Care into one dynamic and collaborative inpatient unit. This newly integrated unit offers incredibly diverse learning opportunities, exposure to complex medical treatments, and strong ongoing support from engaged leadership.

Clinical Focus Areas
Oncology & Chemotherapy
- Care for patients receiving cancer treatment, including chemotherapy and palliative care
- Oncology nurse education and chemotherapy-specific training provided
- Opportunities to build expertise with complex oncology protocols
- Oncology Biotherapy Card/Oncology class provided.
Acute Medical & Hospitalist Care
- Treat a wide range of acute medical
- Provide care for patients admitted to the hospitalist service
- Manage complex and rapidly changing clinical needs

Responsibilities:
- Responsible for collaboration, communication & facilitation of optimal provision of care in addition to being involved in the provision of direct care of patients and families.
- Responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, coordination, monitoring & evaluation of the patient's plan of care from admission to discharge.
- Provide quality holistic nursing interventions, med/surge nursing interventions and hands on skills including class II telemetry monitoring and chemotherapy administration, respiratory support, critical thinking and more.
- Collaborative team approach: SNAP rounding daily with interdisciplinary team including physicians, clinical affiliates, medical social work, care managers, nutrition, Rehab services, spiritual care, and pharmacy.
- Ensures quality nursing care is rendered to all patients in accordance with the New York Nurse Practice Act, National Standards of Practice, and Nursing and Clinical Service standards of care and practice.
- Ensure a seamless, effective, efficient transition of care across the continuum.
- Participates in monitoring quality metrics specific to the department & ensure complete & accurate documentation in the patient record.
- Act as 1) mentor; 2) clinician; 3) educator; 4) consultant/collaborator; and 5) navigator.
Education, Training, Experience, Certification and Licensure:
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and current licensure in the State of New York.
- Baccalaureate Degree in the Science of Nursing (BSN) degree from an accredited school of nursing preferred, according to NYS requirements (preferred).
- One-year Med Surg or Critical Care Experience.
- *GNs or RNs with < 1-year experience should apply to the Graduate Nurse Residency positions.
- Specialty credentialing & educational degree according to clinical nursing practice specialty area preferred.
- Maintains all licensures and certifications according to NYS regulations and specialty area requirements.
- Participates in continuing education and updates and maintains knowledge and skills related to specific areas of expertise.

Pay Range: $38.75 - $58.35
Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location
