Required Skills:
  • Valid BLS, ACLS, and NIH certifications
  • Proven ability to manage art lines, central lines, EVD drains, chest tubes, and conduct NIHSS assessments
  • Must pass an EKG competency exam prior to start
  • Strong knowledge of Meditech Expanse EMR system
  • Ability to handle complex patient diagnoses such as STEMI, sepsis, stroke, DKA, and post-surgical cases
  • Excellent bedside manner and communication skills
  • Flexibility to float to Med Surg units when needed, with comfort managing higher patient ratios (up to 1:6)
  • Experience with PPE protocols and infection control practices

Nice to Have Skills:
  • Additional certifications in specialized procedures
  • Experience with phlebotomy, IV therapy, and VAT team procedures
  • Prior experience working in stroke, step-down, or cardiac units
  • Familiarity with RT and hospitalist support systems

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Minimum of 1 year of recent ICU RN experience in an acute care setting
  • First-time travel nurses must have at least 2 years of perm staff RN experience in acute care
  • Separation of 1 year from any permanent staff RN role if previously employed at the facility

Other Requirements:
  • Able to start on 06/01/2026
  • Willing to work a 4-day week on the day shift or night shift, including every other weekend rotation
  • Flexibility to work holidays, with 2 out of 3 holidays required per year
  • Comfortable floating across different units including stroke, step-down, and med-surg (ratio 1:2 for ICU, up to 1:6 when floated)
  • Professional appearance: pewter scrub color; gray, white, or black T-shirts with WK monogram; gray or black jackets; badges worn above the waist

  • Must be COVID-19 vaccinated and PPE compliant
