This individual will oversee nursing practice, staff performance and development, quality initiatives, daily operations, and the appropriate management of resources within the department.The ideal candidate will be an experienced nursing leader with a strong clinical background in cardiovascular, cardiac surgery, transplant, or a closely related high-acuity surgical specialty.This is an excellent opportunity for a Nurse Manager looking to join a highly respected healthcare organization while maintaining an attractive daytime schedule with no weekends and no on-call requirements.Nurse Manager –Cardiovascular Transplant Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical and operational leadership for nursing and clinical support staff within the Cardiovascular Transplant specialty
  • Ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality, and appropriate patient care
  • Lead, mentor, develop, and support nursing staff while promoting employee engagement and retention
  • Establish, communicate, and monitor staff performance expectations
  • Collaborate closely with physicians, nursing leadership, and multidisciplinary clinical teams
  • Oversee staff competency, education, development, and ongoing performance improvement
  • Monitor quality outcomes, patient safety initiatives, infection prevention measures, and patient experience metrics
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and implement strategies to improve clinical and operational performance
  • Oversee staffing, scheduling, productivity, and appropriate utilization of departmental resources
  • Support departmental financial goals and maintain fiscal accountability
  • Develop and implement effective staffing models based on patient care and departmental needs
  • Promote a culture of collaboration, accountability, continuous improvement, and professional development
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory requirements, and professional nursing standards
  • Maintain positive working relationships with providers, nursing staff, leadership, and multidisciplinary team members
Qualifications Required
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Active and unrestricted Florida RN license
  • Current American Heart Association BLS certification
  • Approximately 5–7 years of related nursing experience
  • Strong clinical knowledge within an acute care, surgical, cardiovascular, transplant, or similarly high-acuity environment
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Strongly Preferred
  • Previous Nurse Manager or formal nursing leadership experience
  • Cardiovascular, cardiac surgery, heart transplant, transplant, or related high-acuity surgical experience
  • Level I Trauma Center experience
  • Experience leading nursing teams within a large acute care or academic medical center
  • Experience with staffing, performance management, quality improvement, and departmental operations
