Position Overview:

Seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality, patient-centered care to hospice patients in the Jefferson City, Missouri area. This role focuses on delivering end-of-life care, supporting patients and families, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to ensure comfort, dignity, and quality of life.

Schedule & Work Details:

  • Location: Within a 50-mile radius of Jefferson City, MO
  • Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
  • On-Call/Weekend: Yes, per agency rotation
  • Weekly Hour Guarantee: 32 hours
  • Pay Rate: $51 to $53 per hour
  • Mileage Reimbursement: Yes, between patient visits

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing care to hospice patients in their homes or care settings
  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including pain and symptom management
  • Educate patients and families on disease progression, care plans, and comfort measures
  • Collaborate with physicians, social workers, chaplains, and other interdisciplinary team members
  • Document patient care and progress accurately and timely within the electronic medical record
  • Respond to patient needs and changes in condition, including participation in on-call rotation
  • Ensure compliance with hospice regulations, standards, and agency policies

Required Qualifications:

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Minimum of 1 year of RN experience
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior hospice or palliative care experience
  • Experience with Homecare Homebase (HCHB)
  • Strong communication, empathy, and critical thinking skills
