POSITION OVERVIEW
Registered Nurses RN at Recovery Centers of America render professional nursing care to patients with behavioral healthcare needs and performs total patient care assigned, including administering prescribed medications. The RN works with clinical and case management staff to coordinate care and assist with treatment plans. Maintains patients medical records on nursing observations. May assist physician during treatment and examination of patient.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Conducts intake assessments through interviews with patients and relatives to gather case history. Plans and provides nursing care for patients. Makes nursing diagnosis of the medical status of patients and recommends treatment options. Consults with medical, clinical, and other behavioral healthcare staff in designing appropriate treatment plans for clients. Administers and notes reactions to psychotropic drugs and other medications. Arranges further medical attention when necessary. Assists the client in understanding the nature of mental health disorders, the disease of addiction, and the need for treatment. Assists in maintaining a safe and secure environment for staff and patients. Tests for vital signs of pain and ensures treatment of pain. Documents all patient information on medical charts and follows physicians written orders. Maintains patient confidentiality. Maintains accurate records and documentation of patient treatments, immunizations, and laboratory results according to standard medical recordkeeping. Provides courteous, high-quality service to patients and their loved ones by responding to requests for service or making appropriate referrals in a timely manner. Upholds personal and professional ethics and values, considering the values of Recovery Centers of America and respecting the culture, beliefs, and abilities of individuals. Understands duties and responsibilities, has necessary job knowledge, has necessary technical skills, understands company mission and values, keeps job knowledge current, is in command of critical issues. This job operates in a professional environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Registered nurses are expected to remain prepared for working long hours. They may also have to work on weekends, holidays, and even during night shifts, working closely with the patients.
