Department Summary
The Division of Genetics and Genomics provides comprehensive clinical care including diagnostics, genetic counseling, and individualized management in concert with other specialties for people of all ages.
Our large program includes more than 30 board-certified clinical geneticists, nurse practitioners and registered nurses, genetic counselors and dieticians.

Key Responsibilities
  • The Metabolism Program is seeking an ambulatory-based staff nurse who is compassionate, organized, and clinically strong to support patients with lysosomal storage disorders across the lifespan.
  • Provide patient care by facilitating ongoing support of care coordination needs between ambulatory visits, which may include infusion support, prescription, telephone and/or portal message triage, and/or care coordination of referrals, diagnostic evaluations/surveillance, and follow up appointments.
  • Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team including physicians, advanced practice providers, genetic counselors, social workers, infusion services, specialty pharmacies, and community partners.
  • Support treatment initiation, including patient and family education before and during infusion therapy.
  • Coordinate referrals, follow-up care, and communication across specialties and care settings to ensure seamless, high-quality care.
  • Educate families, home health nurses, school personnel, and outside providers on disease-specific needs, treatment plans, and accommodations.
  • Assist with clinical documentation, chart review, prior authorizations, letters of medical necessity, and other program-related coordination activities.
  • Serve as a patient advocate and clinical resource while promoting evidence-based practice, quality improvement, and population health management. 
  • 5-8 hour days; no weekends or holidays; work primarily at 2 Brookline Place.
Minimal Qualifications
Education
  • BSN degree.
Experience
  • A minimum of 2 years of pediatric nursing experience.
  • Ambulatory nursing experience preferred.
  • Care Coordination experience preferred. 
Licensure/Certifications
  • MA RN license.
