Job Summary and Qualifications
As the Electrophysiology (EP) Lab Registered Nurse (RN), you will be responsible for identifying patient needs and priorities for care through assessment and planning that is consistent with the patients expectation of treatment. You will admit and assess patients, provide medication administration, circulate, and scrub diagnostic and interventional cases and procedures, and provide direct and indirect patient care. You will also order supplies, maintain inventory, and support process improvement within the Cardiology department. You will manage patients with suspected or documented history of cardiac disease undergoing diagnostic or interventional procedures. You will complete and document a patient assessment and reassess patient condition as needed. You will administer medications, including monitoring and documenting response. You will monitor the patients overall status pre, during, and post-procedure. You will communicate patient changes to physicians. You will manage patients with potentially life-threatening dysrhythmia or hemodynamic change through physicians orders by using medication and emergency equipment. You will explain procedures to patients and assess their understanding. You will safely defibrillate, cardiovert, and pace using a pacer-defibrillator. You will schedule procedures, including entering reservations. You will maintain narcotic counts on a daily basis.
